We have our own in house pharmacy, stocking a range of antibiotics and other medication, avoiding further worry and waiting. You will not be required to disclose your real name, give contact details or have anything added to your medical record.
For the vast majority of tests, all that is required is a simple urine or blood sample, and there is usually no need for swab tests. If you feel anxious about your appointment, please feel free to bring a companion to help put you at your ease.
The Standard Sexual Health Screen:£295
Blood test for HIV, HIV 1 and 2 antibodies, P24 antigen, hepatitis B antigen and syphilis
Urine test for chlamydia, gonorrhoea, non specific urethritis (NSU) and urinary infections
Vaginal swabs (if needed) for thrush (candida) bacterial vaginosis (BV) and trichomonas vaginalis (TV) : £250
Additional tests for herpes 1 and 2 can be discussed with the doctor with anal, rectal or oral swabs conducted, as clinically indicated, for an extra fee.
The Executive Sexual Health Screen: £495
This comprehensive suite of tests covers a wider range of possible STDs including the standard Sexual Health Screen test:
Ureaplasma urealyticum (UU) mycoplasma genitalium(MG) and trichomonas vaginalis (TV) – urine or swab test
Herpes HSV 1 and 2 antibodies – blood test
Human papilloma virus (HPV) subtyping – swab test
It is estimated that by the age of 27, most sexually active people have been exposed to some form of HPV, often without any obvious symptoms. However, testing allows early detection for high risk (cancer triggering) and low risk (genital wart triggering) HPV subtypes.
If HPV is detected, we can offer the cervical cancer vaccine, gardasil, regular cervical smear testing, or rapid referral to a specialist for colposcopy and further treatment. For genital warts we can prescribe creams or treat immediately with freezing (cryotherapy)
At HarleyStreetGP, we also offer a range of screening and preventative services, including cervical smears, contraception and well woman screening. For men, we provide ‘well man screening’ and prostate checks, in addition to advice on erectile dysfunction (ED) and impotence.
If you’re having problems conceiving, modern treatment can easily solve many fertility problems; a proper diagnosis is required to deal with the problem. Our clinic undertakes testing for erectile dysfunction (ED) and fertility issues, including hormonal blood tests, semen analysis, pre conception DNA gene screening and pelvic gynaecological scanning. Following testing, we can offer treatment for ED and, if required, urgent referral to some of the UK’s leading fertility specialists.
